Sprouting from the carnival like home front recording sessions
in Mainz Germany is another interesting knertz release!
Oskar Ohlson, fresh off his previous cassette with filkoe (pumpernickel)
and previous LP with babel fishh (pinkie swear), has
a new collection of songs featuring all three together! This handsewn
CD with artwork from Reymundo (mildew) Luevano is
a split: 6 songs with filkoe and 6 songs with babel fishh. It also
contains powerful guest vocals from winterismyname as well as
some lovely guest musicians. Both sides of the split posses first
hand observations and broken story telling from the time each
vocalist spent recording abroad with Oskar at different points in
the year. Filkoe and Oskar met in the fall, the melodiously psycho
pop feel to the music resembles the left over shine of the
summers passing; while the babel fishh side was hatched in
the warm months and is caked with long, dark, bass notes with
enough room to prepare and warn others of the up coming winter.
All in all, Oskar clears a new field and breaks new dirt for a
more mature musical landscape on this and it is drum heavy
as always. After the harvest, it seems as if there most riveting
of ideas have come to life. For more information please attend
one of there shows throughout the summer and into September!
